Latin America: Searching for El Dorado

For two centuries European explorers searched the Americas for the famed city of gold – El Dorado. By now we all know there was no golden city; at least, none that was ever found. Yet, the expeditions across Latin America continue today, not for gold but for banking profits. Unfortunately, many of today’s expeditions have yielded similar results to those of the Conquistadors of old. The good news is that for others, Latin America has delivered markets in which financial institutions earn superior profits.
