Reuben E. Clarson

imageReuben Clarson is an Executive Vice President at Speer & Associates, Inc. (S&A) with responsibility for assisting clients in the development of corporate financial strategies.  Mr. Clarson has advised clients in a wide range of areas including: financial planning and analysis; merger and acquisition evaluations; and overall corporate strategy development.

Mr. Clarson has worked on corporate finance engagements throughout North and South America and has extensive experience in financial statement analysis, business valuation, and capital markets.  Working with clients, he utilizes his experience to define corporate strategy, identify and value attractive investment opportunities, and structure financial transactions.  Mr. Clarson has also advised leading transaction-processing companies in the development of financial forecasts, pricing models, and functional cost analyses.  As part of these engagements, Mr. Clarson has developed extensive market assessments and competitor analyses of the payment card industry.

In addition to a strong background in corporate finance, Mr. Clarson has worked in retail channel management and has developed a comprehensive delivery system planning model, which simulates channel, product, and customer segment profitability.  He has extensive experience in delivery channel management and has published numerous articles relating to retail bank strategy.

Prior to joining S&A, Mr. Clarson was with a top five global money center bank where he managed the financial planning and analysis of a major retail banking area.  He was responsible for developing strategic and tactical financial plans, market potential models, and line of business management reporting.  Previously, he worked with an international accounting and consulting firm where he was a Systems Analyst.  While attending graduate school, Mr. Clarson was employed as an equity research analyst at one of Wall Street’s leading investment banks and was selected by a global financial institution headquartered in Switzerland to participate in an internal consulting internship.

Mr. Clarson received an M.B.A. from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University, and was awarded membership in the Beta Gamma Sigma Scholastic Honor Society for high academic achievement.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Florida.  Mr. Clarson has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is currently a member of the CFA Institute and The Atlanta Society of Financial Analysts, Inc.
