Peter P. Hetzler
Peter Hetzler is Senior Executive Vice President at Speer & Associates, Inc. (S&A) and responsible for the management of consulting engagements domestically and abroad. His responsibilities include information technology planning, software evaluation, contract negotiations, implementation planning, technology execution, operations assessment, consolidation, vendor management and re-engineering. These assignments include positioning institutions to realize the benefits of consolidations, implementation of state of the art technology, and staff optimization.
Mr. Hetzler’s experience includes managing large international consulting assignments for a global management consulting firm, as well as a leading international financial processing company. As part of his responsibilities, he managed major overseas assignments, including a full business process re-engineering engagement for a major Middle Eastern bank. This re-engineering effort included developing a corporate strategic plan, re-engineering back-room processes, and selecting and implementing new IT software throughout the organization. In addition, he directed the operations and technology consolidation of two international financial institutions in the Asia Pacific region. Mr. Hetzler also led the development of a strategic technology plan for a large international software vendor. In addition to his international expertise, Mr. Hetzler has managed domestic client engagements involving technology selection, contract negotiations and implementation, vendor management, dashboard design, systems reengineering, service level design and call center consolidation. Mr. Hetzler has managed large financial institution Information Technology reviews and tactical implementation plans to improve performance.
Previously, Mr. Hetzler was Executive Vice President and CIO of a leading southeastern regional bank, where he led the Operations, Information Systems, Procurement, and Legal Divisions. His accomplishments included the total re-engineering of the operations functions and the implementation of a region-wide branch automation system.
Mr. Hetzler was also an Executive Vice President and CIO of a major Florida bank. There, Mr. Hetzler had responsibility for all non-customer interface functions including operations, information systems, procurement, facilities, and legal. His accomplishments included the merger of 54 banks into one statewide organization, consolidation of regional centers, and implementation of new technology throughout the organization.
Mr. Hetzler received a Bachelor of Science degree from Charron Williams College. He has authored industry articles in leading technical publications and is a frequent speaker at industry conferences.
